Introduction

This web site hopefully will provide a means for Heald/Hale relatives to communicate with those that are interested in bettering their own knowledge of their ancestry.

The focus of attention is on John Heald of Concord, his descendents, his ancestry and that of others conneced to him genetically.

As a by product of this work, it hopeful that it will also motivate others to learn more about their heritage.

Also, it is to enjoy and entertain. Hopefully it will also bring some relatives together as friends and associates.

This site was set up as a tool for genealogical research with the surname of Heald and Hale.

We follow only the Hale name as it is used as an alternative to Heald as descendents became known and recorded as Hale instead of Heald.

It is common for people to mispronouce the name Heald using "Hale", "Held" and other pronouctiations as they fail to use two sylables. "He - uld" or "Healed" as most Healds pronouce the name today. Spelling of the name is also a variety of ways, Hield, Held, Haile, Healed, etc.

Our objective is to gather all of the family information that we  have in hopes that others will contribute to the growth and accuracy of the family tree kept on and off line.

Together, we can increase the accuracy of the data in each of our efforts to document the Heald genealogy. Many individuals with the name of Heald in the USA are not certain of their heritage. Some may be related to either John Heald of Concord, MA (1610-1662) or Samuel Heald, the Quaker (1668- ) that settled in Pennsylvania.

As there is no known connection between John Heald and Samuel Heald, except that they both came from the same area of England, Cheshire and the nearby cities of Mobberley and Alderley.

Significant items of interest are that Samuel's line accounts for the city of Healdsburg, California, while John's line accounts for the city of Healdton, Ok. John's line is also connected to the Heald Business College of San Francisco and other locations.

It was also the John Heald line that was involved in the American Revolution war in Lexington and Concord, MA at the Battle of April 19, 1775.
