About this web site and the web master. Bob Heald This web site is maintained by Robert W. Heald. Age 76, born in Wisconsin and raised in California. Bob lives in Alpharetta, GA just outside of Atlanta and when not working in the gardening, golfing, or doing charitable work, he is working with genealogy of John Heald of Concord, MA 1610-1662. John Heald was one of the first settlers of Concord MA, probably about 1638. The first settlers arrived in 1635. Bob credits his interest in genealogy from his grandmother "Winnie" Cate Heald and his aunts Alice and Luella Heald. They were collectors of Heald photos and ancestral memorabilia. In the 1950's Jack Wendel Heald of Oregon visited my parents several times in Sonoma, California to collect what the family had in genealogy data for the Healds. He also can be credited for some of my interest in the Heald family history. Jack Wendell Heald has now published a book of 433 pages about the descendents of John Heald of Concord, MA which is available if you write to me requesting more information about how to order. Cost is $25 which includes shipping to anywhere in the USA. A CD containing this book in PDF (Adobe) format is available for $15 including shipping. It is copyrighted by Jack Wendell Heald. My thanks also goes to the many that have responded to this web site and have given me information as their connection to the Heald Family history and added information only close family members can do. Also, many thanks to the World Wide Web (WWW) for information and data that permits one to accumulate genealogy information at a reasonable cost. Most notably to the RootsWeb and Ancestry.com for the system that permits us to post our family trees at no cost to us, and permits us to share the findings that we collectively have done. (see Trees" for links to some of the more important web sites. ) My Aunts and Grandmother started me with perhaps 500-600 names of family members, where today my file of ancestors connected to John Heald number in the 35,000. (see Links - Family) My focus has been on collecting information about places, things, people and other notables that pertain to the name Heald. (see "Notables" in the menu to see some of the items that I have documented. Many that have contacted me have shared their stories, their photos, their knowledge of family data and there are just too many to thank and acknowledge in this work. I am willing to share what I have found out, and only ask that when possible, that you help defray the costs when you get a major piece of work, such as a CD from me.
