Did John (1610) have two wives? Dorothy Royle and Dorothy Andross (Andrews?) Q. Who was John's (1610) parents? James? Thomas? No one knows. Q. Did John (1610) return to England to marry? Although possible, not practical, as the records in Cheshire England show his son's birthdate in 1637. There are no records of any of his family or himself on board any ship coming to the colonies. Q. Was he really with the original group founding Concord? Doubtful, as they arrived in 1635. John was made a "freeman" in Concord in 1641. Q. What is the origin of the crest for Heald? Who was presented with it by the King of England in 1641? Why is not in the records of crests? No one knows. Sometimes family crests are made without any connection to royalty. Q. Was John from Alderley, Cheshire, or from Berwick on Tweed? Most genealogists would agree that he was not from Berwick on Tweed, as church records in Alderley, Cheshire, England does have records of his son John's birth and there are many other sources to put him as being from Alderley. . I Q. If he did come to the colonies twice, why don't we have a record of at least one of the ships in which the family were passengers? No one knows, but it is fairly certain that some one has fabricated a story of him returning to England.. Q. Was Sarah Heald (b.1623) m. John Leonard a sister of John?
